About

The City of Butler was founded in 1841, although not named Butler until the time of the Civil War in 1866. In the beginning, the city's prosperity was mostly due to the railroad industry. Today, the Butler Industrial Corridor—located just southwest of the city limits—includes Air Products, DeKalb Molded Plastics, Heidtman Steel, Magic Coil, MultiMatic, New Millennium Products, Noble Processing, Paragon Steel, Steel Dynamics, ThermaTru, Tri-Wall Containers and a number of companies representing other industries.
